Week 2 is finally completed and I am starting to work on week 3. For this week, cookies need to be implemented and verify if a user has already submitted forms based on cookie information. I plan on a two stage process, 1. create the cookie 2. just check for the existence. If this is fast, I will work on reading specific components of the cookie in order to determine WHICH form was submitted, and read the original submit date in a JavaScript "open window"

Well, WEB 420 is here and I am already in week 2. For this weeks assignment, I have decided to create a "Contact Us / Newsletter" page. The first version of this page will be static and non-functional. As the class goes on I will add database access, request verification and "Previous Requests" lookup from the DB

I finally printer and submitted the final work off to Don this afternoon. Major changes include creating a horizontal list that is controlled through styles. The general look is not what I would have preferred but for this assignment, I am happy with the result.

Everything is currently up and running except the questions page. I plan on using a basic template but also have a dynamic backend where users could submit questions and I would answer them. This should come up later in this class or in the next web class.

I have also created a placeholder for the DIY section. I just do not have the materials / facts or pictures to complete this before class. I have noted this on the placeholder page and hope this will suffice for the time being.

I finally completed the online link section with links that are in my opinion, critical resources for marine aquatics husbandry. I have also gone through and cleaned all of the code for easier reading, and understanding.

The two styles that I originally created were just not enough, I have added another two styles, one being the footer and the other being the location tag at the top of each page for accessibility reasons and a cleaner look. I have also created a style / page template for future pages. Although I am not fond of this layout, if I am going to stick with pure html, this is as far as I want to go.

I have complete the 129 gallon page content. Right now I am keeping the structure VERY simple in order to maintain a site that I could possible use in the future. Possibly this site will be used for the next web programming class. I will be adding the TENNANO next within the next few hours.

I am realizing that programming in straight HTML is somewhat pointless and very frustrating because everything needs to be separated and when a single change is made, every page must undergo the same changes. Thank god for search and replace.  My biggest frustration happens to be with the header, footer and style sheets. Although I could reference an external style sheet, I am staying with embedded styles because I have never utilized that technique

My sample site for WEB 410 is currently up and running. I have only attempted to get the basic structure complete while maintaining full control over the styles. I currently only have two universal styles which are named ttitle and tcontent. Both of these correspond to their name.

I have completed my storyboard and am now working on the first template. I have decided to include an introduction page for style and creativity, although I am not sure I will keep it once the rest of the site is "transformed" into a dynamic site using flash and php. There will be a total of six main categories: Home, 129, 10, FAQ, links and DIY. I have a feeling that I will construct the DIY and FAQ sections using Ajax accordion styling to learn more ajax as well as give the site an "up to date" feel even though the site is pure HTML (YUCK!!!)
